Hello everyone,
This post is to ask how other dagger players are doing and to share some of the many disadvantages I’ve been facing. I absolutely don’t want to sound negative, challenge, or insult anyone — I just want to talk about it in a fair way.
I don’t see many daggers around, and I think I know why. I challenge the staff to create a dagger character, equip it with average gear (like most of the server has), and play for a while — do some PvP and farming. You’ll quickly realize it’s impossible to compare daggers with almost any other class, especially with strength-based builds like Warriors.
I’m just an average dagger — GS 3135, currently ranked 45th for the class. Nothing special, not good or bad.
Even with Vorpal +6, elementals between level 4 and 7, dual Skull Edger +7, and skills enchanted between +15 and +30, I still feel extremely weak. Of course, I know I’m missing some things — just like many other players — but the difference is that other classes have a lot of advantages that daggers simply don’t.
With the new skills and talents, other classes have become so strong and so accurate that no amount of evasion is enough to make them miss. I use a 5-skill combo that deals around 3k–5k total damage (and that’s when I don’t miss two skills). I’d need to land four perfect combos like that to win a PvP against, for example, a Tyrant — while he just rushes in, hits me for 2k instantly, and keeps dealing consistent 4k hits the entire time. On top of that, they have almost top attack speed. It’s no wonder we only see Tyrants farming in melee zones and around the map.
Daggers are not supposed to be tanks or classes that can take a lot of hits — we’re assassins, meant to strike fast and decisively. If we manage to get close, we should have a real chance to win. But right now, that just doesn’t happen. TvT events are even worse, especially now that they’re limited to melee only — meaning the classes daggers should have an easier time against (like mages with low p.def) are now out of reach. I honestly try to understand, but it makes no sense.
I’m actually afraid I won’t be able to farm anymore with my dagger once my 20% PvE bonus runs out hahahaha
Guys, is this really fair?
I’m not asking for daggers to become overpowered — not at all. I just think they deserve a small balance adjustment so we can actually compete and enjoy the game like everyone else. Maybe slightly increase critical damage or accuracy for skills, or tweak the evasion mechanics so they have a real impact again. That alone would already make a huge difference and bring some diversity back to PvP and farming.
Thanks for reading, and I’d really love to hear other players’ thoughts — especially from those who still play dagger and know the struggle.
